I have a background in construction, having owned my own contracting business for 12 years, so I was going to be very particular about who would perform the work on my home. I interviewed 5 contractors from Home Advisors and 5 from Angie’s List rated A and having consistently won Super Service Awards over the years. I received bids from 5 of those. For the same scope of work the price ranged from $26,000 to $47,000 (the high bid was 2 times the low bid !!??. I was determined to hire quality, competence, and responsiveness at a fair price.
Well, that’s exactly what I got with CSI and my wife and I could not be happier! I spoke with John at CSI several times, and met with his subcontractor Oscar multiple times to review scope of work. Both were professional, responsive, and very easy to work with. Oscar performed outstanding work and frequently asked if things were to my satisfaction as the work progressed. He was hard working, prompt, and we had great communication. When the beam installation hit a material supply snag, John worked things out to use a second supplier to keep things moving.
All in all, a great experience with CSI. I certainly feel I got my money’s worth. Highly recommended!!!
Oscar was excellent to work with. He was always very professional, on time, and worked well with our schedule. He worked on one project at a time spread out over a couple weekends. Oscar was flexible while we purchased some of the materials needed to help reduce our overall costs. We plan to use him for future projects!
They were great. Project came in on budget, crew was great.\
It took awhile to get hooked up with the estimator, Brian, after contacting the owner, John, but once he contacted us, he was prompt and responsive. Their bid was on par with one other bid, and almost half of what another top-rated installer on Angie’s List wanted. They won the project due to Brian’s frequent communication to answer questions and make sure the bid covered everything needed. The installer Charles was very good, was easy to talk to, and I’m happy with the result. There were a lot of complex cuts in the entry way, and the floor required some leveling, but the grout lines are dead straight. I’m a perfectionist and I can’t spot a flaw. Due to scheduling, a second person was brought in to do the grout work which posed some challenges, but the job got done within a day of the estimated time. Overall, dealing with CSI was pretty painless, and they will be on my list for future projects.
For very long time we’ve try to find a bathroom contractor to repair the shower in my mom’s condo. After receiving either extremely high estimates or not receiving any responses, we felt somewhat discouraged. This is when we found John and his company. While he could not give us the estimate right away, he was constantly in touch to let us know that he has not forgotten about us. After finally coming to see the scope of work, he gave us the estimate, which was very reasonable and fair. We later agreed on the start date, and John was very accommodating considering we had some health issues in our family.
Orlando did all of the work – from demolition of the old walls to redoing the plumbing and installation of the ceramic tile. He is very quality-oriented and skillful. He also tried to keep dust to the minimum and took measures to prevent inevitable dust from spreading. On the final day, he even cleaned the affected areas of the whole apartment.
The new shower looks great, it’s exactly what we wanted! We would definitely hire CSI and Orlando for all our future remodeling needs.
